Associate Professor Elaine Chong is Head of Ophthalmology at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and consultant ophthalmologist at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, where she also serves as Deputy Head of Cornea. She specialises in cataract, corneal and refractive surgery and in medical retina. She holds a PhD and Master of Epidemiology from the University of Melbourne. Elaine serves on several professional committees, including the Clinical & Experimental Ophthalmology editorial board, and has earned international recognition for her research. She co-developed the DMEK Endoglide injector and co-founded One Right Eye (ORE), a virtual platform enhancing patient eye education.
