Biography
Dr Fagan commenced his ophthalmology registrar training at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (Eye and Ear) in 2007 and finished in 2011. This provided comprehensive medical and surgical ophthalmology training and he subsequently undertook 18 months of subspecialty fellowship training in medical retina and ocular inflammatory disorders at the Eye and Ear. As part of this fellowship, he has published articles in the medical literature and presented at international and local scientific meetings.
He has been working as a consultant in the Ocular Immunology and Medical Retina since 2013.
Dr Fagan also holds other appointments as:
- Chair of Australian and New Zealand Society of Retinal Specialists (ANZSRS), 2021- present
- Co-convenor of annual ANZSRS scientific meeting, 2017 – present
- Member of the Scientific Advisory Committee for Macular Disease Foundation
