Exists to provide subspecialty expertise to patients and families with genetic eye disease. It is a multidisciplinary clinic with ophthalmologists and geneticists and genetic counsellors present. Referrals are received from Optometrists and Ophthalmologists both from within and outside RVEEH. Genetic testing where appropriate is organised from this clinic and results discussed at review several months later. Conditions assessed include retinal dystrophies including RP and macula dystrophy, hereditary glaucoma and cataract and wider system disorders with specific ocular effects such as Stickler or Marfan syndromes.
