This flyer shows the process when you visit the Glaucoma Collaborative Clinic at the Australian College of Optometry (ACO), 374 Cardigan Street Carlton.
We estimate you will be at the Clinic for 1 to 2 hours.
1. Registration at ACOPlease come to the main reception when you arrive so we can check your details. You will then take a seat in the main waiting area. |
2. Preliminary eye testYou will have some glaucoma eye tests with an optometrist. You may then be asked to sit in a different waiting area. |
3. Visual field testing and photographyA different optometrist will guide you through a visual field test. They will take photos of your eyes. This will not hurt. |
4. Final assessmentYou will return to the first optometrist for a final assessment of your eyes. Together with a glaucoma eye specialist, they will provide you with a diagnosis and management plan. The eye care team will advise whether you need a follow-up appointment and if so, where and when this should occur. |
5. HomeYour appointment is now complete and you can go home. We will send your GP (and/or the person who referred you) a letter about your visit to this clinic and your eye care plan. |
