Biography
Dr Alp Atik is a dual-fellowship trained cataract and glaucoma specialist. He is a Head of the Glaucoma Unit The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital.
He graduated with Distinction and First-Class Honours from the University of Newcastle, before completing a Master of Medicine at the University of Sydney and a Master of Public Health (Decision Science) at Harvard University.
After completing his fellowship at the Eye and Ear, Alp is one of the few Australians to have undertaken a second glaucoma fellowship in the United States at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he managed some of the most challenging glaucoma and cataract cases in the world.
Alp is also affiliated with the Centre for Eye Research Australia, where he researches the health economics of glaucoma treatment to ensure patients are provided with the best care available.
