Dr Benjamin Wei is an ENT surgeon and the Head of the Otology clinic. He has special interests and expertise in paediatric and adult ear conditions (otology), and hearing restoration surgeries including cochlear implantation.
Dr Wei completed his undergraduate medical degree at the University of Melbourne and was awarded a fellowship in otolaryngology: head and neck surgery by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He then completed further otology, cochlear implantation and lateral skull base surgery fellowship training at the University of North Carolina USA.
He has a PhD from the Bionics Institute/University of Melbourne, where he was mentored by Professor Graeme Clark (the world-renowned pioneer of the multichannel cochlear implant), and Professors Stephen O’Leary, Robert Shepherd and Roy Robins-Browne
