Biography

Dr Catherine Green is Head of the Glaucoma Unit at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital. Dr Green has also been extensively involved in ophthalmic leadership, education and international development. She has served as a Director of the Centre for Eye Research Australia (CERA), the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) and the International Council of Ophthalmology (ICO). She was an Examination Board Chair for RANZCO for many years before being appointed Dean of Education from 2017-19, following which she was Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Monash Institute for Health and Clinical Education until 2021.

2017 – Award of Merit 9th Asian Medical Education Association Symposium cum Frontiers in Medical and Health Sciences Education

2016 – Nakajima Award, Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology

2016 – Honorary Membership: South African Glaucoma Society 2016.

2015 – Distinguished Service Award, Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology

2013 – Gillies Medal: Australia and New Zealand Glaucoma Society
