Biography

Dr Georgia Cleary is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, she works in the Corneal Unit, Acute Ophthalmology and Surgical Ophthalmology Services. Dr Cleary manages adults and children in her subspecialist and general ophthalmology practice. She is recognised by CASA as a Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist.Dr Cleary qualified as a specialist ophthalmologist in London after 6 years of training within the London Speciality School of Ophthalmology, rotating through NHS hospitals in London Surrey, and Kent, UK. During her specialist training, she was awarded the Royal College of Ophthalmologist Crombie in the part 1 membership examination.Her research background lies in cataract surgery and intraocular lens design. Dr Cleary received a Ph.D. from the University of Western Australia, in collaboration with Kings College London and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London where her research was undertaken. Her work from this thesis was awarded numerous prizes at conferences in the UK, Europe, and the USA
