Biography
Professor Daniell is a senior consultant at the Eye and Ear, serving as Head of the Corneal Clinic since 2011, overseeing a team of surgeons performing corneal transplantation for Victoria. Professor Daniell is a founding Chair of the ANZ Corneal Society and Medical Director of the Lions Eye Bank. Previously, he was Head of Ophthalmology at The Royal Melbourne Hospital from 2003–2011 and Chair of ORIA 2007–2013.
He is Head of the Surgical Research Unit at the Centre For Eye Research Australia, which is developing a tissue engineered cornea. He also leads an international consortium on keratoconus.
Professor Daniell held the position of President of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists from 2016 –2018.
