Take Ariel’s story. Diagnosed with profound hearing loss at just four months old, Ariel’s parents were devastated, until they found hope at the Eye and Ear. With cochlear implants and years of speech therapy, Ariel’s journey has been extraordinary. Today, she plays the violin and swims like a mermaid.

Or Matthew, a 24-year-old carpenter whose flu and glandular fever turned into a sight-threatening eye infection. Thanks to urgent diagnosis and treatment in our Emergency Department, Matthew’s vision was saved. Today he’s back at work and on the footy field.
