Our ear, nose and throat clinics provide support in diagnosing, managing and treating conditions related to your ears, nose and throat.
What happens at the appointment?
At the appointment you will meet your specialist doctor. They will:
talk to you about your medical history and your symptoms
answer any questions that you have
conduct an examination, if needed
refer you for blood tests, an x-ray, CT scan or a lung function test, if relevant.
You may meet a range of specialist and support staff when you come to the Eye and Ear, including:
Administrative staff: You will be met and checked in by our professional administrative staff. They can help answer your questions you have and direct you to the facilities you may need.
Audiologists: These allied health professionals who assess, prevent and manage hearing and balance disorders.
Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) specialists: These medical doctors specialise in conditions affecting the ears, nose and throat and related structures of the head and neck.
Nurses: These health professionals who will answer any of your questions, conduct your tests and provide support throughout your stay.
Otologists: These medical specialist focus on issues related to the ear.
Speech pathologists: These allied health professionals specialise in communication and swallowing disorders.
Please bring:
your Medicare card
your pension, social security, veteran affairs or private health insurance cards, if relevant
your medications in their original containers.
If you are having tests, you may be required to remove some of your clothing. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can remove easily.
Allow at least two hours for your visit.
If additional testing is needed you will be at the hospital for longer.
