Orientation
When you start your employment at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, you will attend a 4-day comprehensive orientation program. This includes an introduction to ophthalmic and ear, nose, throat (ENT) nursing.
Supernumerary
In each clinical area, you will be supernumerary for a specific period based on both your needs and those of the clinical area.
Clinical Support
Each clinical area has a Clinical Support Nurse and a Clinical Nurse Educator who will support your learning and transition to working independently. The Eye and Ear provides a preceptorship model, where experienced Registered Nurses offer additional support.
Study Days/Continuing Professional Development
4 study days – includes specialist and general nursing topics
Comprehensive education program including mandatory and professionally recommended courses. Some include practical components.

The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital cannot accept applications from outside the GNMP allocation and placement service match conducted by the PMCV.
We will take your preferences into account, but cannot guarantee a rotation in preferred departments.
