Yesterday, The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital experienced a significant water leak that has affected parts of the hospital.
As a result, planned surgeries scheduled for today, Monday 21 September, and tomorrow, Tuesday 22 September, are being rescheduled. The hospital is contacting affected patients directly.
Our Emergency Department and Specialist Clinics (Outpatients) continue to operate as normal.
The safety of patients, staff and visitors remains our priority. The affected areas have been isolated and the hospital has put appropriate measures in place to maintain safe care while assessment and remediation works commence.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as required.
