In 1961, Eye and Ear ophthalmologist, Dr John Colvin started giving comprehensive lectures. For 35 years he inspired generations of medical students to learn more about ophthalmology. Today, these important learning and development opportunities continue.
The John Colvin Ophthalmology Lecture Series is pitched for delivery at the level of a general medical graduate and will cover a range of ophthalmology topics and conditions.
Our next Ophthalmology Lecture Series will commence on Tuesday 21 May 2024. Students will need to register their attendance in advance and will need to watch a pre-recorded lecture to participate in the live online lecture. The live online lecture will not be recorded.
The pre-recorded lectures will be emailed to students who have registered for the event the week prior to the lecture.

Brian Pyman Otolaryngology and The Victorian Faculty of Australasian College of Dermatologists Lecture Series
The Otolaryngology and Dermatology Lecture Series has been running at the Eye and Ear since the 1970’s. They are suitable for medical students in their clinical years, and will cover a range of ENT and dermatology topics and conditions. Our next Otolaryngology and Dermatology Lecture Series will commence on Saturday 10 February 2024 and finish on Saturday 27 April 2024.
This year, the lecture series will be presented online through Zoom video broadcast. The program will run for 9 weeks. Students will need to register their attendance in advance.
